WAR heroes were honoured on Today as part of the annual Merchant Navy Day.Erewash Borough Council has organised for memorial events to be held at Ilkeston and Long Eaton town halls. The council raised the Red Ensign – the flag, commonly known as 'The Red Duster', that flies proudly on British merchant ships , at both events. In addition, the council will took part in wreath-laying at the war memorials in Ilkeston and Long Eaton at 11am on the day. LINK
