Merchant Navy Commemorative Service & Reunion:
This year’s Merchant Navy Commemorative Service & Reunion event was held on September 8th at Tower Hill.
The increasing popularity of the now annual commemoration at the MN Memorial in the City of London was underlined in 2013 by a large turnout
A parade of MN representatives led by the British Airways Pipe Band and the Standards of participating associations marched by a saluting dias. The salute was taken by the First Sea Lord supported by Baron West of Spithead, patron of the Merchant Navy Association. This was followed by a multi-faith service led by David Potterton. The Commemorative Service & Reunion is held on the nearest possible Sunday to Merchant Navy Day.
Merchant Navy Day is September the 3rd EVERY YEAR.
