Psalm 107:
Photos from Brenda Shackletonand his wonders in the deep. The Mersey Docks and Harbour Building on the waterfront in Liverpool is Grade 11 listed and was built 1904-07. It was the home of the MDHB for 87 years. Now belongs to Peel Holdings, I think. As a school girl in L'pool I visited it often - although I did think that all the buildings in L'pool were made of black stone ! Then they were cleaned and lo and behold they were this splendid Portland Stone. My Dad ( Capt. Bill Hartley 1905-99) joined MDHB as a Dock Master in 1947 after his War adventures. In 1957 he was promoted to Assistant Harbour Master and his office was in this beautiful building. He retired as Senior Assistant HM in 1969. We had this Psalm as a reading during his funeral Service. You will see it inscribed on the inside of the Dome of MDHB and Dad was very familiar with it .
